DAY 2: Apakah itu DNS

lucky for me as i was accepted to join TM...but hope not a bad luck for TM for hiring me.. haha

Still remember on the first challenge session with Mr Qush ( he was a great boss ever, now not my boss anymore since he was promoted to be AGM. Congratz boss =p.Murah betul rezeki boss (ni msti sbb jadi boss unit kitorg-IPCORE). Mase ni la TM revised gaji, mase ni la boss dpt bby (after 7 yrs hokeyyy), pastu dpt plak offer jd AGM.

Still remeber, Boss ask me n other new members... what is DNS, what is RADIUS, What Is DNS for TM.. what is the function of all those things..and bla..blaa..blaa...All questions was shooting me like ****!!

Ok...Apakah itu DNS.. kalau korg nk details explanation, korg can go thru buku..x kire la text book ke... buku network for dummies ke...kat sini, bukan role aku to write a book..aku just nk share anything yg boleh membantu korang to memorize and understand the basic things/terms!!

DNS, nama inggeris beliau ialah Domain Name System. kat bawah ni definition yg aku 'koyak dan tampal' from  Mr. Wiki

"The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical distributed naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the participating entities. A Domain Name Service resolves queries for these names into IP addresses for the purpose of locating computer services and devices worldwide. By providing a worldwide, distributed keyword-based redirection service, the Domain Name System is an essential component of the functionality of the Internet."

When we are surfing to www.google.com... Computer will never know nor understand what is www.google.com.. So, to resolve dis thing , www.google.com will be translated to a unique code of number called ---> IP address... tadaaaa....here is the IP of google:  209.85.175.100 U can by pass DNS lookup by entering the google IP.

Komputer : Hai DNS Server.

DNS Server : Hai komputer

Komputer : DNS Server, tolong jap bg IP www.google.com 

DNS Server :  Aku dah agak dah. Ni la keja aku tiap2 ari. Tu la, mase kat uni x mo blajaq. mniru je pndi.last2 smua bnda nk tya org.Ni dia IP www.google.com (209.85.175.100) .

Komputer : TQ DNS. Gile Berkira ko DNS, kalau macam ni mls dah aku nk mintak tlg. (so, kat sini, korg bleh bypass DNS look up, macam aku bg taw td..so ko just copy paste IP tadi, paste kat browsing tab and ENTER, try it now, still leh masuk www.google.com)

DNS Server : Okay. Sama2. Bukan berkira. Nasihat je =)

P/S: korg boleh get alotz of info pasal dns. ade open dns, public dns, n etc. ade hosting yg x leh masuk (especially file sharing-yg dah kene blok dek DNS filtering). Kat sini, power of dns can be used, to bypass dns filtering)

--> ni je aku nk share arini, sbb aku pon letih sbb manpower arini oni 3/6 working....luckily, today is monday, workload and cases not so much compare to tues-thurs..so, tomoro, be prepare for a lots of cases ( hope xde p1 case). hope this simple post might help u guys...NITE...ZzZzZZz
